KODÁLY MUSICIANSHIP CLASSES
In this unique course taught by Dr. Kiszely, a former student of Kodály, students receive an intensive musicianship training based on the Kodály Method, which develops thinking in music, re-inforcing the skills needed in music reading, sight-reading, ear-training, rhythm, theory, improvisation, transposition and harmonization.
The Kodály Classes are taught in small group lessons, for one hour weekly through 30 weeks, beginning in October through May. Since most competitions and piano festivals include tests in the above mentioned skills, this course is necessary for those who plan to enter competitions and festivals.
When accepting piano students, preference is given to those enrolled in the Kodály Musicianship classes.
Musicianship Classes are given once weekly on Saturday afternoon.
